Whether you are sitting in your sparsely decorated office, in front of an age-old computer screen, hunched over a blank sheet of paper and wondering what you thought when you accepted the PhD position, or you are sitting in your sparsely decorated office, in front of an age-old computer screen, hunched over a sheet of paper, content with yourself because you just finished the proof you have been working on for several weeks – this event is for you! If you have found yourself in one of the situations described above (or, let’s be real here, in a good solid mix of the two), you might have asked yourself who else shares the same fate.
Time to find out!
Starting at April 3, we would like to invite all PhD students across the different research groups at the institute of mathematics to join us for a shared lunch in the Mensa at TU Berlin, and possibly, depending on individual time restrictions, some coffee afterwards. The idea of the PhD lunch is to share your experiences, exchange research ideas, and – most importantly – get to know your fellow PhD students. We would especially like to encourage new PhD students to join, since writing a thesis itself is hard enough – no need to make it harder by having no one to talk about your ideas. That being said, if there are any postdocs out there who would like to join our lunch, feel free to do so, we would like to get you on board.
